Basic information about my Photo Music Videos

What is a Photo Music Video?
Making a Photo Music Video is about telling a complete story in a combination of pictures, videos, music and text. I work for YOU to create your unique and specific story. I do NOT just put your photos into a program that automatically assembles the pictures for a set amount of time with standard effects. Southpaw Creations makes your photos come alive using transitional effects and music as I assemble them to tell your personal story. Photos are edited to the beat and mood of the music.
I handle your photos as if they were part of my own personal collection. If they are not already in digital form (from a digital camera), I first scan them, followed by basic color correction, detail enhancement and perform minor cropping if necessary before
assembly. Immediately after scanning, I put your precious originals back into your folder, to be returned with your finished montage.
Photo Music Videos do NOT need to consist only of still photos. If you have existing DVD video that fits into the story we are creating together, it can be added into the mix at the appropriate point.

When is a Photo Music Video Appropriate?
The easy answer to that is...ANYTIME. They make an amazing and unforgettable gift for a anniversary, birthday, Valentine's Day, Christmas, Mother's Day, Father's Day or an awesome addition to a wedding reception, anniversary or retirement party. They can be presented as a gift or used for display for the guests at any party. They also make wonderful "Life Tributes" for presentation at a funeral, honoring the life lived by your loved one. The ideas are endless!
So as you flip through stacks of photos from the box under your bed, consider getting them assembled together in a Photo Music Video. On a DVD, your memories will be set into motion and readily available for viewing whenever you want to take a stroll down memory lane.
End of the Season Sports Videos
Another option that I specialize in is Sports Videos. What this means is I follow you and your child's team throughout their season, taking photos and video along the way to be put together at the end of the season as a celebration of the team's season. I would be your team's personal reporter to capture it all! The video would then be put together on a DVD for your end of the season party. Parents are encouraged to provide their personal photos and video as well, but not all are used. It's just not possible to use everything available to me for the end product. I make certain as the team's personal reporter that pictures are taken of EVERY team member and coach throughout the season. Nobody will be left out. It takes a team to play a game and it is my desire to present it no other way. Here is how this package works:
  • I will attend 3 to 5 home games (determined by length of season)
  • Team and Individual pictures taken during one of the home games
  • Unlimited pictures captured during the home games I attend
  • I will also offer other products like mouse pads, coasters, 8 x 10 posters, etc. from the photos I've taken. The cost of these are completely separate from the cost of the End of the Season Video package.
  • I will also attend any championship game separate from the other 3 to 5 home games attended.
  • Each purchased DVD copy of the End of the Season Video comes with a personalized DVD cover with your child's name on it.

The cost of this specialized package is as follows:

  • $50 team fee as personal team reporter (this is optional...if you don't have a need for me to follow you through the season to take pictures or video, then I will depend on team parents to take the photos)
  • Season Football Video $15.00 per copy
  • Picture CD (only available if hired as the team reporter) $5.00
  • 8 x 10 Photo Collage (your choice of 4 pictures from the pictures I've taken) $12.00
  • Mouse Pad $15.00 (your choice from pictures I've taken)
  • Coasters (Set of 4 - choosen from the pictures I've taken) $30.00
  • Magnets - Small $12.00 or Large $14.00 (picture choosen from the pictures I've taken throughout the season.

Frequently asked questions and basic answers

  • How should I submit my photos and videos to Southpaw Creations? For the best quality, photos and videos should be sent to me in their orginal form for scanning or on a CD.
  • When should I pay for my movie? 50% of your fee will be due upfront. The remaining balance will be due upon completion at the time of delievery, pick up or mail.
  • Will I be able to view my movie before it is finished? If you are a local customer you are more then welcomed to view your movie before it is offically burned to the DVD copy.
  • When will I receive my final product? Turnaround time depends on the number of projects that Southpaw Creations is working on. You can usually expect your DVD in up to two weeks. If you are an out of town customer please take into consideration the mailing process.
  • Will all of my photos and videos be used in my DVD? Depending on the length of each video clip and the package that you order, not all photos submitted to Southpaw Creations may be used. If you want all photos used in your special video, please make sure to request that. It is very important to take into account the length of the video when you are submitting your photos and video clips.
  • Will my photos be cropped? Not often is any cropping need but in some cases a little bit is needed in order for that particular picture to look correct on the screen.
  • How long will each photo appear on screen? Each photo appears for 5 seconds unless the customer requests a different time. Title pages and transitions may make the picture length vary too.
  • Can title pages appear over photos and videos? Yes. This is simply a matter of your personal preference. Titles can appear over black screens, or over the images and or videos.
  • How do I select music for my movie? Just choose a song that you enjoy, or that has special meaning to you. If you are submitting the music, please put it on CD or bring the original. If you aren't sure what music or type you'd like to use, Southpaw Creations can put it together for you. Please keep in mind as well that music must flow together to make your movie move smoothly. You wouldn't want a heavy metal song with a Country or Christian song.
